Interactive Distribution Maps
The interactive maps reflect the current surveying status. They are updated regularly, but are currently largely uncorrected. We are working on a revision of the maps. Please contact us if you notice any mistakes.
The interactive maps provide two different sets of information:
1. Species distribution map: : This is available by entering the species name or the code in the box at the top left (in Latin or German). In order to obtain the first and the last recording of the selected species, left click on the desired quadrant.
2. Information about a quadrant (independent of the selected species):
You can get a chronological list of all the surveying records by left-clicking on a quadrant on the map and pressing the CTRL key at the time. By clicking on the box "Artenliste abfragen" (species list query) you will get a total species list of the quadrant after shortly waiting.
Please note: in some cases, there are entries in which the authors of the "ferns and flowering plants in Baden-Württemberg" that are cited with information from the 19th Century, for example "Arno Wörz: 1865, Karteiauswertung." This goes back to data records from the 1990s, where the data's background was omitted due to time constraints. "Arno Wörz" acts in this case not as a surveyor, but as a recorder, who attained the data from other sources, eg. herbaria, indices, literature, etc.. This is confusing and we are trying to clean up this data gradually.
